Community-based disability services tailored to individual needs.

Residential supports provide culturally appropriate and sustainable long term residential support service for individuals with developmental or multiple disabilities. The residential services provide overnight staffed support to assist individuals to live in a very hospitable dwelling space, integration to the community where they live, access basic life skills, productive community living supports, and appropriate behavioral intervention to ensure individuals sharing accommodations in a group living arrangement are safe and happy with support they are being provided. This program consists of several homes, staffed with overnight staff and daytime staffing which is appropriate and applicable to the support needs of the individuals’ accessing services.

The program and services provided are developed on an individual basis through the development of Individual Lifestyle Plans. As much as possible, peer matches are made to find compatible roommates for each person. The homes are based throughout Edmonton and are designed for 3 or 4 Individuals living together. Community inclusion is emphasized by providing for community outings, recreational and leisure activities, and use of public transportation wherever possible. There are two residences in Edmonton that will serve 8 individuals. 

The Support Home Program provides individuals with the opportunity to live in a supportive family environment. With access to developmental support and community resources, individuals can enhance their independence and engage actively in community life.

Supports can be provided by an agency or subcontractor; individuals provided a place to live within supportive family home with access to support to thrive within the setting and the community. The supportive roommate will prove all the necessary developmental support required for individual to progress and grow. All support is intended to assist the individual in learning the skills to allow them as much independence and community inclusion as possible. Support is to ensure the individual’s safety and security in their daily life.

Our Support Home services are designed to provide individuals with a nurturing environment that mirrors the warmth and care of a family setting. We focus on fostering personal growth and independence, ensuring each individual feels safe and supported. Our dedicated team works closely with residents to develop life skills, encouraging community involvement and personal development. By living in a supportive home, individuals gain the confidence and skills needed to thrive both within the home and in the broader community.

Our Respite Care Services offer temporary relief for families and caregivers, ensuring their loved ones receive compassionate and culturally sensitive support. This service allows caregivers to recharge while their family members continue to receive quality care and engagement.

Respite support is provided to children, youth and adults. As a provider to supports Hope K support operates on the concept of empowerment of the consumer.  As such Hope K will encourage the client or guardian to be as fully involved, to the best of their abilities, in planning daily living, community activities, goal planning, staff evaluation and program feedback. Hope K avails the support give families a break.

The respite support (in and out of home) is provided by trusted staff to avail relief for families/caregivers; to give them time to rest from their role supporting (children, siblings, parents, grandparents or extended family) they can maintain employment, good health and live a productive life.  Respite support is delivered to individuals in a culturally sensitive compassionate, personalized support.

This service is designed primarily to assist developmentally delayed adults who require one to one or small group support in a variety of areas. Services include assistance to for individuals to access and participate in various activities to enhance the quality of their lives.

Provides individuals with developmental disabilities the ability to access the community by providing the necessary supports to do so. The goal is to provide social integration and learning opportunities for the Individual. Community inclusion is the main objective of this program.

This program provides alternatives to traditional group living provided in our Shared Living (Residential Support) Program. The focus of this program is to provide an alternative for Individuals to live in an environment which supports their development and growth within a homelike atmosphere.

The Community Access Program is dedicated to helping individuals engage with their communities in meaningful ways. We provide tailored support to facilitate participation in various activities, enhancing social integration and personal growth. Our program focuses on empowering individuals to explore their interests, build relationships, and develop new skills. By promoting community involvement, we aim to improve the quality of life for each participant, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Through our Community Access Program, individuals are encouraged to take part in community events and activities that align with their interests and goals. We offer one-on-one and small group support to ensure each person can fully participate and benefit from these experiences. Our goal is to create opportunities for social interaction, learning, and personal development, helping individuals to lead fulfilling lives within their communities.
